Heute möchte ich ein Buch vorstellen, dass wieder einmal gebraucht zu mir kam. Auch ältere Bücher waren Moden unterworfen, doch ist der Blick abseits des aktuellen main stream immer wieder mal sehr erhellend! Es macht klar, wie viele Deutungsmöglichkeiten sich aus einfachen Wahrheiten und Sozialverhalten entwickelt haben.

Aus der ethnologischen und archäologischen Forschung werden Beispiele vorgestellt, wie Völker jeweils Darstellungen auf Kleidung, Töpferei und Bauten aus ihrer realen Umgebung ableiteten. Dies ist ausgesprochen spannend, denn die Phantasie von Archäologen wird dadurch erweitert und wir verstehen so viel mehr über Ursprünge von Glaubensinhalten! Wie aus einem Wurm eine Schlange wurde. Und dabei einfach die Ernährung und Festtage der Einheimischen übersehen wurden. Das kommt heute nicht mehr vor, die Fachbereiche arbeiten viel mehr zusammen.. Leider werden ausserhalb der Wissenschaft alte Ansichten oft ungeprüft weitergetragen.
Überprüfung unterschiedlicher Quellen ist immer ein Muss!
Auch zwei Vorträge über religiöse Kunst haben mir vorgeführt, wie zeitgebunden Ansichten waren. Doch vor allem haben sie mir Bildmaterial von ungeheurer Schönheit vorgeführt. Gucken wir mal, was dran ist…
